PANDORA
I was touched by the humbleness and humility of the people, who were dealing with the daily anguish of poverty and war.
I made a pledge to myself, that I would do whatever I could to improve the situation.
I watched the children, who were joyful, full of hope and happiness and a very special zest for life.
Food, Water and Clothing
9.4 million people in Mozambique lacked sufficient food for consumption.
54%: of people cannot afford a nutritious diet ; 38%: of children under 5 are stunted.
43% of children have stunted growth due to severe malnutrition.
The hardship that the children face is that they need food and water and such is their enthusiasm for life and learning that some of them walk up to 7km to school every day.
Medical
Many of the children are unlikely to reach their 5th birthday. The children are extremely vulnerable to diseases. We need supplies. There are no paracetamol, anti-biotics or any other basic medicines.
137 out of 1000 girls give birth between the ages 15-19.
The women of Bela Vista need to be educated about contraception and HIV/AIDS. Babies are born to young women everyday who do not have the means and knowledge to look after themselves as well as their newborns.

Water
YEAR: 2023
MONETARY GOAL: £5000
Water is the most precious natural resource. It is vital to life, to development and to economic growth. Most of the water at Bela Vista is full of salt and difficult to access. The Bela Vista Project is looking to collaborate with donors to clean its water and build more fresh water points.
The heart of the Bela Vista Project is educating its children and plans are underway to build a primary school classroom within the next two years. Your donations will enable Bela Vista’s pre-primary students to continue their positive learning environment.

Orphanage
The Mozambique Civil War wiped out an entire generation, leaving behind orphans. Help the Bela Vista Project to sustain its family-orientated support system within its orphanage, so that they too can contribute to the world with a sense of meaning and purpose.

To keep on providing the children of Bela Vista with sufficient learning resources and maintaining a positive learning environment. GBP 1500 per month.

To continue providing food parcels to the families of Bela Vista, living in dire conditions. These includes the elderly. GBP 2500 per month.

To build freshwater points. One water point will cost ± GBP 500.

To build a bus shelter for women and children, who spend hours waiting for transport. ± GBP 700.

To keep on providing basic medical supplies such as disinfectant, paracetamol, dressings, and bandages. GBP 1000.

To continue to help the people of Bela Vista in unforeseen circumstances, such as rebuilding a home that has blown over or buying a new wheelchair.

BUILDERS OF BELA VISTA
Two sisters suffered through and survived a twenty year civil war. Every morning, they walk two kilometres to fill their water buckets at a hand pump. They are poor, but the foundation of this community.
